Medicare Therapy Caps in Effect: Help Restore Exceptions Process
Because of Congress's failure to finish Medicare legislation before the July 4 recess, beneficiaries became subject to the annual caps on therapy coverage on July 1. CMS is applying the caps to all therapy a beneficiary may have had since January 1, so many beneficiaries already have exceeded their therapy allowance for the year. We are working to restore the exceptions process so that beneficiaries can have medically necessary therapy covered. Contact: Barbara Gay, (202) 508-9489.
