HUD Assisted Living Conversion Program
This program's goal is to provide private nonprofit owners of eligible developments with a grant to convert some or all of the dwelling units in the project into an Assisted Living Facility (ALF) for the frail elderly. The facility must be licensed and regulated by the State (or if there is no State law providing such licensing and regulation, by the municipality or other subdivision in which the facility is located).
The MetLife Market Study of Assisted Living Costs
The 2003 survey was conducted by telephone in 87 major markets in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Monthly base rates, which are defined as room and board, three meals and typically, housekeeping and personal care assistance, were obtained for assisted living facilities.
