AAHSA Files Comments on RUGS Rule
Posted: July 13, 2005
Thanks to the efforts by numerous of AAHSA members who sent us feedback on the impact of the proposed RUG Rule on their facilities, on July 12 AAHSA filed extensive, detailed comments to the proposed rule. AAHSA recommended that CMS not implement the proposed refinements until a more appropriate RUG refinement system can be studied and developed. AAHSA also urged CMS to correct the errors we found in CMS’s rate calculations and to release the details underlying these changes. AAHSA also recommended that CMS extend the comment period so that more informed analyses and public comments can be provided, and issue an interim final rule with comment period rather than a final rule.
